Since 1999, the Information office of the State Council of China has organized a series of cultural events in several countries, including Germany, France, Switzerland, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, South Korea and South Africa. Collectively named "Experience China," the events have been well received by overseas governments, news media and the general public. They have become an established part of China’s cultural exchange program, and provide a way for foreign audiences to understand and experience China in their own countries.
The year 2009 is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 17th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. The "Experience China" events will allow the Israeli people to get to know the real China in an all-round way, through lectures, performances, photo exhibitions, films and other cultural activities. The activities will highlight the Chinese people's friendship towards the Israeli people and provide an opportunity for the people of the two countries to communicate with each other face to face.
