Resume: Mr. Wang Chen, was born in Beijing on December 1950. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1969, and be-gan his working career in January 1969. Wang graduated from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with a Master's Degree in journalism. He previously was Associate Editor-in-Chief and Editor-in-Chief of Guangming Daily, the Vice Minister of Publicity Depart-ment of CPC Central Committee; President & Editor-in-Chief of People's Daily and President of People's Daily. He currently holds the post of Minister of The State Council Information Offce. Wang served as a delegate to the 15th, 16th and 17th National Congresses of the CPC; an elected member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committee; an elected member of the 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and a recipient of Spe-cial Government Allowance since 1993. |
