I remember in a reception to celebrate the Chinese Traditional Lantern Festival in 2005, President Hu Jintao received me to express his support and encouragement.
I remember in December 2005, the third part of the dance series "My Dream"was performed on six occasions in the Great Hall of the People. On this occasion, President Hu and 11 other leaders from the Central Committee of the Chinese Government came to see the performance and made such complimentary speeches to us.
I remember that awards and honors in many diferent felds of people with disabilities, the youth, women, art and culture were all conferred upon me, a common girl with disabilities.
For 20 years we have toured the world to perform. Wherever we have gone, we have been warmly received and highly praised. But, I understand that, without the support of society and help from other artists, I would not have been able to enjoy these days. Our success in our special art is an expression of the Chinese culture, human spirit and social harmony.
I am deaf and sufer from lack of hearing, but I am lucky. Tere are hundreds and thousands of outstanding artists in our country. Te disabled artists have been privileged to perform in famous theatres in more than 50 countries on 5 continents. It is truth, honesty and virtue that made this possible for us and many kind people have helped us in realizing our dream.
