【#Tech24H】Microsoft is further expanding its AI model ecosystem to lower its reliance on OpenAI. Recently, Microsoft and French artificial intelligence startup Mistral announced a new deal. Microsoft will invest billions of dollars to help Mistral scale its AI infrastructure, and the two sides will jointly develop clients across Europe and worldwide. For Mistral, the cooperation allows infrastructure expansion. Meanwhile, the company can tap into Microsoft’s resources to acquire enterprise customers. Mistral is regarded as a rival of OpenAI and Anthropic in the enterprise AI sector. Microsoft intends to embed Mistral models into its enterprise offerings. At present, Mistral’s latest Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 models have launched on Microsoft Foundry.
