Photo List Gallium Nitride Nanocrystals Was First Created

【#Tech24H】Researchers at the University of Chicago, in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory, firstly have successfully manufactured nanocrystals from gallium nitride: a metal nitride, which opening up new material possibilities in electronics, flexible lighting, and medical implants. They used molten salt as a reaction bed to steadily support the nanocrystal formation process. Subsequently, they precisely identified a golden window of temperature and ammonia pressure that allowed the otherwise stubborn metalnitrogen bonds to break and recombine more readily. Building on this approach, they not only produced gallium nitride nanocrystals but also prepared a range of other nitride nanocrystals. These materials are both highperforming and relatively lowcost. Converting them into nanocrystals further expands their applications. Beyond traditional rigid thin films, they can also be blended into polymers and integrated into fabrics or other flexible devices via inkjet printing. [ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
