【#Tech24H】Z.ai has completed construction of an 1GWscale domestic AI compute data center, fully equipped with homegrown AI chips. At the same time, Z.ai officially announced today its acquisition of XCore Sigma, a domestic AI heterogeneous computing software company. XCore Sigma, which originated from the Compiler Laboratory of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has long focused on heterogeneous computing software stacks and compiler optimization, and is widely regarded as one of China’s top AI Infra teams. These two moves respectively address the critical capabilities of compute supply and compute enablement: the former provides the massive computational resources needed for largescale model training, while the latter—through foundational software capabilities such as compilers, runtimes, and inference engines—improves utilization of heterogeneous chips, reduces inference costs, and enhances model deployment efficiency. [ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
