【#Tech24H】A behemoth weighing nearly 100 tons, yet capable of moving sideways like an agile crab and turning in place. Shuanglin Co., Ltd. recently unveiled the world’s first driverless mining truck utilizing distributed electric drive steer-by-wire corner module technology, the “Shuanglin K7”. With a rated load capacity of 158 tons and a maximum gross mass of 248 tons, this heavy-duty vehicle offers a new intelligent solution for open-pit mine transportation, thanks to its unique “Rubik’s cube-like” maneuverability and Level 4 autonomous driving system. This breakthrough beyond the conventional limits of heavy truck mobility stems from the distributed electric drive steer-by-wire corner module technology co-developed by Shuanglin Co., Ltd. and Tsinghua University. The technology highly integrates drive, braking, steering, and other systems, enabling independent steer-by-wire control for all wheels. [ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
