【#Tech24H】Qingdao SunRui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CSSC Group Corporation No. 725 Research Institute, unveiled the world’s largest marine wind-assisted rotor sail system in Dalian. With a diameter of 5 meters and a height of 35 meters, the system harnesses the classic Magnus effect to efficiently capture wind energy and provide additional thrust for vessels during navigation. Test data show that the system delivers a maximum thrust exceeding 355 kN, enabling average fuel savings of 5% to 25% for large ocean-going ships, along with a corresponding reduction in carbon emissions. [ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
