【#Tech24H】Scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States have discovered gem-quality minerals in Martian pebbles, with compositions similar to rubies found on Earth. The related research was recently presented at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference held in Texas. These tiny, dazzling gems are composed of corundum. Scientists speculate that this corundum may have been formed by ancient meteorite impacts, during the impact event, immense heat and pressure heated or compressed the Martian surface dust, giving rise to these small treasures.
