【#Tech24H】Wing, the drone division under Alphabet, announced that it will begin delivering packages to residential homes in the San Francisco Bay Area this year, marking the first commercial launch for the drone delivery unit in its home market. The company already operates commercially in North Carolina, Virginia, and Australia. Wing positions its drone delivery as a solution to the inefficiencies of the "last mile" delivery, particularly for small, time-sensitive orders. The company has completed over 750,000 deliveries and serves more than 2 million customers across parts of the United States. Through partnerships with Walmart and DoorDash, Wing is able to deliver groceries and restaurant meals, with some orders arriving within 30 minutes.
