【#Tech24H】On January 12, above the test field in Dingbian, Shaanxi, a drone equipped with a domestically developed new turbojet engine soared into the sky. It flew steadily at an altitude of 6,000 meters for 30 minutes at a speed of Mach 0.75, with all performance parameters precisely meeting targets and no signs of component failure. The “heart” of this drone is China’s first 3D-printed aero engine to complete a flight test. Its successful trial flight not only fills the gap in the engineering application of additive manufacturing for complete engines in China but also marks a critical leap for China’s aviation industry in manufacturing technology, from components to complete engines.
