【#Tech24H】A research team from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, among other institutions, announced that the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) has confirmed the existence of a density-free regime in tokamaks. Plasma density affects the rate of fusion reactions, and a density limit has long been a challenge. The team developed a new theoretical model and employed various methods to control the plasma, successfully breaking through the density limit, with experimental results aligning with predictions. The study provides an important basis for high-density operations in tokamaks and has received extensive collaboration and support.
