Beijing, July 7 (Youth.cn) - On July 4, 2025, the Nantong-Tongxiang section of the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway and its Tongxiang-Deqing connecting line (Phase II) opened to traffic in Huzhou, Zhejiang. With a total investment of 18.011 billion yuan, this project is a key transportation initiative under Zhejiang's 14th Five-Year Plan. Spanning approximately 44 kilometers, the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway (Phase II) runs north from Nanxun (Huzhou) through Tongxiang (Jiaxing), with an east-west spur linking to Deqing (Huzhou). It interconnects five major expressways, including Shenjiahu Expressway, Lianhang Expressway, Hangzhou Western Ring Expressway (Second Link), Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and North Qianjing Tunnel Approach Expressway. By cutting travel time between southern Jiangsu and Hangzhou-Ningbo by 2 hours, the route significantly enhances connectivity across the Yangtze River Delta. Photo/CFP
