An additional 2,000 National Guard troops were sent to Los Angeles on Trump’s order late Monday. Earlier, 700 Marines were sent to the city besides the previous sent national guards which Trump ordered deployed this past weekend to quell clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement after immigration raids in the region, both of which were criticized for escalating the conflict.
