
Beijing, May 27 (Youth.cn) - On May 26, 2025, the Beijing Cultural Heritage Skills Competition and National Cultural Heritage Skills Tournament Selection opened at the Ancient Wooden Architecture Conservation Research Base. Themed “Preserve the Cultural Heritage, Promote the Craftsman Spirit,” organized by the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau and the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, the event aims to foster high-skilled professionals in cultural relic restoration , promote craftsmanship, and contribute to the healthy development of archaeology.
A total of 237 participants from 44 institutions competed in six categories: metal, ceramic, paper/painting, wood, masonry, and archaeological excavation restoration. The competition includes theoretical exams (20%) and practical assessments (80%). The selection process involves preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds, with top winners advancing to the national tournament in Sichuan Province in July 2025. Photo/CFP
