Beijing, May 26 (Youth.cn) - On May 25, 2025, the absorber tower of China Power Construction’s 1000MW hybrid photovoltaic-thermal project in Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, was successfully completed. The project, with a total designed capacity of 1,000MW, integrates a 900MW photovoltaic power station and a 100MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant, combining complementary power generation methods to optimize energy output. It features 10,310 pentagonal heliostats, each covering 48.5 square meters, with a total reflective area of approximately 500,000 square meters. The project is expected to generate an average annual grid-connected electricity of 130.78 million kWh, supported by an 8-hour molten salt energy storage system. This will save approximately 39,400 tons of standard coal annually and reduce CO2 emissions by about 108,300 tons. Photo/CFP
