Beijing, May 23 (Youth.cn) - On May 22, 2025, folk artisans in Xinying Town, Lingao County, Hainan Province, were busy crafting traditional dragon heads for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. Each head takes 15 to 30 days to complete, with bamboo frames meticulously decorated using colored paper and silk. During the festival, local fishermen transform their fishing boats into majestic “fishermen’s dragons” by attaching the heads and bodies. A unique maritime dragon boat race will then take place, embodying prayers for favorable weather, safety, and bountiful harvests, while showcasing Lingao’s cultural heritage. Photo/CFP
