Beijing, April 22 (Youth.cn) - On April 22, 2025, at the Sanxia Qingkou Salt Field in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, workers are racing against time to install equipment for a photovoltaic-agriculture integration project. The 450 MW fish-solar complementary photovoltaic complex has entered its peak construction period, with crews working around the clock to achieve full-capacity grid connection by the end of May.
With a total investment of 2 billion yuan (approximately $280 million), this pioneering project spans 7,600 mu (1,267 acres) and innovatively combines solar power generation with aquaculture. The design features solar panels elevated above water surfaces for electricity generation while maintaining aquatic farming operations below, creating a synergistic model of "clean energy production above, ecological aquaculture below." This integration establishes a circular economy system that harmonizes renewable energy infrastructure with sustainable agricultural practices, setting a new benchmark for green development in coastal regions.
