Beijing, April 14 (Youth.cn) - On April 14, 2025, the world’s first dedicated pet terminal debuted at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, currently undergoing trial operations and set to officially open to the public in May. This pioneering facility integrates a full suite of services for pet air travel, including quarantine procedures, ticket booking assistance, cargo services, pet-friendly check-in, and boarding hotels, offering travelers with pets a seamless, one-stop travel experience. The project highlights Guangzhou’s meticulous urban governance and commitment to fostering a pet-inclusive, compassionate city.
Featuring a vibrant, whimsical design and immaculate spaces, the terminal is located opposite Gate 29 of Terminal 1 and on the first floor outside Parking Lot P3. Spanning 2,000 square meters (equally divided between indoor and outdoor areas), it marks China’s first airport-based exclusive facility tailored for pet-accompanied travel. Its launch redefines pet travel convenience, blending functionality with warmth to ensure that both pets and their owners enjoy a stress-free journey. Photo/CFP
