Beijing, April 8 (Youth.cn) - On April 6, 2025, in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, over 500 vibrantly decorated boats and tens of thousands of rowers transformed Qinhu Lake into a symphony of splashing oars and pulsing energy, as the 2025 Taizhou Jiangyan Qintong Hui Boat Festival commenced at Qinhu National Wetland Park.
The event revived the centuries-old spectacle poetically described as “a thousand poles and ten thousand oars stirring Qinhu Lake, a hundred vessels chasing the spring tide” - a dynamic reenactment of China’s intangible cultural heritage. Participants in traditional attire maneuvered dragon boats, ceremonial barges, and folk-style vessels through rhythmic rowing rituals, unfolding an aquatic tableau of enduring customs.
Dubbed the “world’s largest floating temple fair,” the festival drew crowds of tens of thousands of domestic and international spectators. Photo/CFP
