Beijing, April 7 (Youth.cn) - On April 4, 2025, Xinshi Ancient Town in Deqing County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, hosted the 2025 Silkworm Flower Festival, a vibrant Qingming celebration rooted in sericulture culture. The event featured a grand procession of the "Silkworm Flower Goddess" palanquin, water-based rituals of scattering silkworm flowers, and crowds "轧蚕花" ("pressing silkworm flowers" - a local custom to pray for silkworm harvests).

Thousands of visitors and locals joined the festivities, following the guidance of "蚕花姑娘" (silkworm flower maidens) adorned with floral silk ornaments, as petals symbolizing silkworm cocoons rained along waterways and streets. Photo/CFP
