
Beijing, April 3 (Youth.cn) - On April 2, 2025, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Professor Liang Weibo and students review files of restored martyr appearances at the Forensic Medicine Building of Sichuan University. Over the past year, Professor Liang Weibo’s team from the West China School of Basic Medical Sciences and Forensic Medicine, in collaboration with faculty and students from Sichuan University’s College of Computer Science, Archaeological Science Center, and Shandong First Medical University, has utilized generative AI technology to reconstruct the faces of martyrs, aiding efforts to locate their families and bring heroes home.
Since March 2024, the team has successfully restored and digitally preserved through 3D scanning the skulls of 220 unnamed martyrs, reconstructing the appearances of 205 individuals and helping locate relatives for 57 martyrs. Photo/CFP
