Beijing, February 25 (Youth.cn) - Dong women, guided by Pipa song inheritor Wu Jiawen, were invited to sing Dong songs for tourists in a Dong village in Guizhou Province on February 24th. Beautiful Pipa songs were favored by tourists and made them intoxicated. Pipa songs in this village was promulgated as national intangible cultural heritage in 1999 and the village named "Wan Zhai" was also recognized as national intangible cultural heritage center. To promote local tourism industry and unique culture, the local authority develops actively rural tourism by promoting cultural performances. Tourists got to know the life style and traditional culture of Dong people after they visited the touristic spots. Last year, the "Wan Zhai" village has received over 20,000 tourists and gained 200 thousand yuan thanks to the rural tourism industry. Photo/CFP
