
Beijing, February 10 (Youth.cn) - On February 9, 2025, residents and tourists flock to the Haiyun Temple Tangqiu Fair in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, for food, fun, and festivities. That day marks the grand opening of the Qingdao Radish, Yuanxiao, and Tangqiu Festival’s main event—the Haiyun Temple Tangqiu Fair - where an array of delicacies and creatively crafted sugar-coated haws (Tangqiu, or tanghulu, a traditional Chinese treat) draw crowds eager to indulge and celebrate the joyful Lantern Festival.
Originating from the Haiyun Temple Fair over 500 years ago, the Tangqiu Fair has been honored as one of China’s Top Ten Folk Festivals and is listed among Shandong Province’s first batch of intangible cultural heritage items.
