Beijing, February 6 (Youth.cn) - On February 4, 2025, the seventh day of the first month of the traditional Chinese calendar, Hangzhou's Zhijiang Cultural Center is hosting a spectacular performance of Pujiang County's bench dragon dance, drawing massive crowds to the vibrant event. This 120-meter-long dragon formation features a 3.5-meter-long, 2.3-meter-high dragon head, 66 lantern-decorated benches, and a dragon tail lantern. Over a hundred performers maneuver the undulating dragon body through intricate formations like the "wheat cake circle", embodying themes of reunion and good fortune while delivering Chinese New Year blessings to Zhejiang Province.
Notably, this intangible cultural heritage bench dragon will make a special appearance in Beijing during the Lantern Festival, offering more people an opportunity to experience the rich cultural traditions of a Chinese New Year celebration. Photo/CFP
