Beijing, January 21 (Youth.cn) - China's "artificial sun", the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) has set a new world record on Monday in Hefei City by sustaining a steady-state high-confinement plasma at over 100 million degrees Celsius for 1,066 seconds. The success marks an important step of fusion energy research from basic science to engineering practice.
