Beijing, December 19 (Youth.cn) - Built by Cosco (Qidong) Offshore Engineering, a floating production storage and offloading ship (FPSO), was delivered and set sail in Qidong, Jiangsu Province on December 16th, which marked the 8th anniversary of Cosco's establishment. The FPSO will provide services for a deep water oil project in Brazil. It will operate on sea by connecting 15 wells, including producing wells, water injection wells and gas injection wells.
The FPSO is 334 meters in length, 60 meters in width and 33 meters in height. Its tonnage reaches 460 thousand tons. With largest tonnage and oil tank capacity in the world, the "floating refinery on sea" can adapt to oil project in different water area. It can produce 180 thousand barrels of oil per day, process 12 million standard cubic meters of natural gas, inject 250 thousand barrels of water per day, and store up to 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
