Beijing, December 18 (Youth.cn) - On December 17, 2024, the North Line of the Yiyang-Changde Expressway is about to be completed and put into operation in Changde City, Hunan Province. The expressway is an important passage linking the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration to Zhangjiajie and Jishou. It is also an major part in the expressway network of the economic zone surrounding the Dongting Lake. The construction of the expressway is of great significance to the western region development strategy. It helps to maintain the western corridor from Changsha to Chongqing, and to boost the economic exchange between the western provinces and the eastern and central provinces.
The North Line of Yiyang-Changde Expressway links Heshan District of Yiyang City to Wuling District of Changde City. It is a major project of the North Line of Changsha-Changde Expressway (G5517), part of the Erenhot-Guangzhou Expressway (G55) in the Planning of the National Expressway Network for 2013 to 2030. The length of the six-lane two-way expressway is 93.5 kilometers, with 34-meter-wide subgrades, and a speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour. Photo/VCG
