Beijing, September 26 (Youth.cn) - Photo taken alongside Nanhe River in Fang County, Hubei Province on September 25th. Blue and clear water near a village contrasts finely with blue sky and white clouds. A clean stream is flowing continuously to the mainstream of the Yangtze River.
Nanhe River, a level-A river in the south source of upper and middle reach of Han River, the largest tributary of the Yangtze River. Originating from Shennongjia forest area, the river flows through Yeren Valley Town, Wutai Township, Qingfeng Town and Yinjifu Town in Fang County. Guided by the principle of “co-protect the river rather than over-exploit it”, the local authority restored water ecology of the drainage basin and built the river protection system with three main measures, respectively river regulation according to the law, river patrol by the river chief and river protection by all residents living alongside the river, ensuring the cleanness of the river that flows into the Yangtze River. Today, the drainage basin of Nanhe River has achieved the National Level-B of water quality. The landscape alongside the clean and clear river is beautiful. Photo/VCG
