Photo List Provincial intangible cultural inheritor curves “dragon head”

Beijing, May 29 (Youth.cn) - Chen Bingshou, provincial intangible cultural inheritor was curving “dragon head” on a dragon boat on May 28th. On upcoming dragon boat festival, craftsmen are busy making their crafts to prepare for annual folk dragon boat competition. Chen, in his sixties, have been in this career for 46 years. According to his introduction, the “dragon head” in front of the boat is made of light and hard Elaeocarpus hainanensis. A handmade “dragon head” requires 12 days of hard working for several working procedures. The finished product weigh 15 kilograms. Exquisite, vivid, unique, the traditional art work has over 1000 years of history and listed into the 5th batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2021. Photo/VCG
