Beijing, April 9 (Youth.cn) - On April 8th, 2024, in Weihai, Shandong Province, at an extensive kelp farming area in Ailun Bay, Rongcheng City, aquaculture workers were busy harvesting large quantities of kelp.
With the weather warming up, the 150,000 mu of kelp farms in Rongcheng City have entered their peak season for harvesting. The growth of kelp in various major sea farming areas is thriving, with a promising bumper crop in sight. Rongcheng in Shandong is the largest kelp-producing area in China, with over 150,000 mu dedicated to kelp cultivation, leading the nation in both cultivation area and output.
