Beijing, March 29 (Youth.cn) - On March 29th, 2024, in Ngari Prefecture of Xizang, herds of kiang were seen galloping across the grasslands within the territory of Purang County. The kiang is a national first-class protected animal and an endemic species to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, inhabiting the highland grasslands at altitudes ranging from 3,600 to 5,400 meters. In recent years, with the continuous increase in ecological protection efforts in Xizang, the population of kiang has grown from about 50,000 to approximately 90,000. Photo/ VCG
