  Whale fossils are seen in Wadi Al-Hitan, or the Valley of Whales, in Fayoum Governorate,Egypt, on Sept. 27, 2017. Wadi Al-Hitan, or the Valley of Whales, is a paleontological site in the Fayoum Governorate of Egypt. Wadi Al-Hitan contains invaluable fossil remains of the earliest, and now extinct, suborder of whales, Archaeoceti. It was designated aUnited NationsEducational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site in 2005. (Xinhua/Zhao Dingzhe)
