On August 23, the Global Finals and Award-giving Ceremony of the 25th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students took place in Xiamen, Fujian Province.

Since its overseas preliminary rounds kicked off in February this year, the competition has drawn more than 50,000 college students from over 140 countries worldwide. For the global final phase, 157 contestants and 131 observing participants from 139 countries travelled to China. Between August 5 and 23, contestants visited Beijing, Pingtan, Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Xiamen and other cities. Through language contests and cultural study tours, they experienced the profound heritage of Chinese civilization and the dynamism of China's development. After multiple rounds of competition, Li Wenda from Vietnam, Wang Jiayi (MAMAM FADILA) from Togo, Li Wei Levi Benjamin Petersen from Germany, Eli Marx from the United States, and Ma Kai from Australia claimed the continental championship titles for their respective continents.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the "Chinese Bridge" brand. The event has reached more than 160 countries and regions, attracting over 1.8 million overseas young participants in total. It is hailed as the "Olympics" of global Chinese-language learning. Over the past 25 years, "Chinese Bridge" has evolved from a single Chinese-language contest into a major global people-to-people exchange brand that builds bridges through language, connects hearts via culture, fosters youth development and advances mutual learning among civilizations.
