Mexico to hold national contest for pavilion design in Shanghai Expo

http://en.youth.cn   2008-12-23 14:02:00

The Mexican state-owned institution ProMexico on Monday announced arrangement for a national contest to select designs for the pavilion of Mexico at Shanghai World Expo scheduled for May 1 to Oct. 31, 2010.

Shanghai World Expo, with the theme of "Better City, Better Life," will host at least 79 million people from 210 countries to analyze problems in the cities and their possible solutions.

ProMexico, the federal organization promoting Mexican exports, is special for coordinating Mexico's participation in the Expo.

It called on all the Mexican architects and associated organizations with at least five years of working experience to participate in the national contest aimed at selecting designs for the Mexican Pavilion.

The works must include both modern and historical elements, reflecting the cultural and natural richness of the country as well as the diversity of Mexican cities.
