Three NASA websites have won the 14th Annual Webby Awards -- the leading international honor for the world's best websites, it was announced on Tuesday.

NASA.gov won the People's Voice Winner for Government, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) got the People's Voice Winner in the science category for its Global Climate Change site and NASA Home & City Version 2.0 won the juried competition for Government, the JPL said in a press release.

A fourth NASA site, Kepler: The Search for Habitable Planets, was designated an official honoree in the science category. The Kepler site was created by teams at JPL and NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California.

The IADASA created the awards in 1996 to help drive the creative, technical, and professional progress of the Internet and evolving forms of interactive media.

The Webby Award recognizes excellence in technology and creativity.

While members of the IADAS select the winners for the Webby Awards, the online community determines the winners of the People's Voice Awards, according to the JPL, which is headquarted in Pasadena, Los Angeles.
