Goals from Diego Capel and Jesus Navas gave Sevilla a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the final of Spain's Copa del Rey.

Atletico had traveled to Barcelona's Camp Nou Stadium in the hope of adding the Copa del Rey to the Europa League that they won in Hamburg a week ago.

However, despite controlling the game for long periods, it was not to be for the side from the capital.

After a frantic start Sevilla took the lead after five minutes, Jesus Navas cut in from the right and although his left foot shot was blocked the ball ran to Diego Capel who smashed a left foot shot past David de Gea, who only saw the ball at the last moment.

Atletico Madrid upped the pace and took control of the game, but was unlucky to see a triple chance to begging after 10 minutes: Ujfalusi shot from the right and after Palop had cleared under pressure, both Aguero and Diego Forlan had shots on target, but both were blocked.

An increasingly bad tempered affair saw Atletico defender Perea make a bad mistake in his penalty area, but Renato was unable to stab a close range shot past De Gea.
