Although the exact release date of Apple's iPhone 5 is still unknown, it seems that fake versions of the device, available in both black and white, are already for sale in China.
The design of the fake iPhone 5 is similar to the purported leaked case design of the real phone, which some have speculated would feature a tapered back, slimmer body, bigger display and would also lose the glass backing that is found on the iPhone 4.
The fake iPhone 5 is only seven millimeters thick, thinner than the iPhone 4's 9.3 millimeters, with the price tag at about 700 yuan (US$108). The retailer said they could sell five to ten units per day, according to HK The-Sun news agency.
It is reported that the fake iPhone 5 runs a Java-based operating system, offers MP3 and MP4 playback and is embedded with Wi-Fi. However, some inconsistencies still can be easily founded on the fake iPhone5, such as the fact that the mute button has been moved from its original position above of the volume controls.
Meanwhile, the fake version still maintains the original home button shape instead of the supposed thinner shape on the iPhone 5.
The newest rumors are estimating an October release date for the newest iPhone, which means it is very likely that Apple is already making the device to prepare for the massive launch.
