Traveling exhibition of Shanghai Expo opens in Beijing

On July 5, A traveling exhibition of the Shanghai Expo was unveiled in Beijing on the 300th day of countdown to the event.

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan attended the ceremony and launched the exhibition.

Wang Qishan (C), Chinese Vice Premier and member of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Organizing Committee, Yu Zhengsheng (R), secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, and Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, secretary-general of the Bureau of International Expositions, attend the opening ceremony of the traveling exhibition of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 in Beijing, capital of China, on July 5, 2009. The exhibition, kicked off at the Capital Museum on Sunday, reviews the historty of the World Expo and introduces the situation of preparation for the Shanghai 2010 World Expo, to mark the 300-day countdown of the event.

Addressing the ceremony, Yu Zhengsheng, secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, said Shanghai wants to make the Expo 2010 a place to display urban civilizations, exchange concepts of urban development, and discover the living modes of the future.

Secretary-general of the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales said the national traveling exhibition represents one of the core dimensions of the Expo which is an educational and transformational project of the whole nation.
