Lady Gaga impresses nuns

Lady Gaga claims the nuns who taught her would approve of her raunchy outfits.

The "Poker Face" singer - who is famed for her outrageous and revealing ensembles - doesn't think teachers at New York's Convent of the Sacred Heart Catholic school would be offended by the way she expresses herself.

Lady Gaga performs at the 2009 Wango Tango concert in Irvine, California May 9, 2009.

She said: "I haven't had any feedback from the nuns. But it's interesting because I think everyone assumes that because I went to such a religious school perhaps they don't appreciate what I'm doing now. But it is quite the opposite.

"I got a really solid education, in particular how to analyse art, how to make art. So if anything, my teachers are sort of nodding their heads and saying, 'She did a good job of using her artistic abilities to really create a new kind of pop.' "

Although she is confident her former teachers support her outlandish career choices, Gaga recently got in trouble with police over her skimpy outfits.

The "Just Dance" hitmaker kept getting stopped by officers who believe her flesh-flashing clothes could offend members of the public, with the most recent incident being while she was wearing a pair of tiny hot pants.

She explained: "I guess they weren't really pants at all. But it was really funny because you all you saw was this half-naked girl on the street yelling at some cop, 'It's fashion! I'm an artist!' It was fun."
