Toronto is one of the cities in the world with a sizable Chinese community, and this week, the city is hosting a festival to celebrate Chinese culture. The annual China Town festival provides an opportunity for the Chinese people living there to commemorate their heritage.

China Town in Toronto has been transformed into a grand stage for displaying the Chinese culture in all its splendor.

To open the festival, visitors saw a wedding ceremony simulating an ancient emperor marrying an empress. Some of the ethnic culture from southwest China is also on display.

For Chinese, it's a way to get in touch with their roots. For local Toronto residents, the unique oriental flavor broadens their horizon, or ignites more interest in China.

Haibao, the mascot of next year's Shanghai World Expo strikes a pose on stage, and sends a welcoming message for all in attendance.
