Spanish bull-running festival ends with 13 injured

MADRID, July 12 -- The sixth bull run of the San Fermin festival, an annual event in the Spanish city of Pamplona, Thursday July 12th ended with 13 injuries, including six people who were gored by bull horns. Three of these people were very seriously hurt.

Bulls from the Marques de Domecq farm led the most dangerous, most exciting and longest San Fermin bull run this year. Those at the back of the pack of runners were in constant danger from the animals who were lashing out.

The six seriously injured runners were taken to the Navarra Hospital. A man of 48, caught by a bull suffered a wound to his upper back and broken ribs.

A Mexican of 23 suffered a gut wound and an injury in the upper thigh. The third seriously injured man is a German of 26, who suffered a head injury.
