The Chinese mainland stock markets closed higher on Tuesday.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 65.04 points, or 3.02 percent, finishing at 2218.33 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index added 367.18 points, or 4.58 percent, to close at 8389.87 points.
Japan
Tokyo stocks closed sharply higher Tuesday with the key Nikkei index jumping 3.18 percent.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average soared 244.98 points to 7,949.13.
The broader Topix index advanced 18.95 points to 760.64.
Australia
The Australian share market closed higher Tuesday after gains in financials overseas showed some confidence in the troubled sector was returning.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index gained 103.5 points, or 3.09 percent, to close at 3451.9.
The broader All Ordinaries index added 96.1 points, or 2.91 percent, to 3393.4. |
