A UN Food Summit is scheduled to be held in Rome, Italy from Monday to Wednesday.
The three-day meeting, to be sponsored by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, promotes an approach that UN officials say, is vital to slashing the number of hungry people.
The strategy, aims to help farmers in poor countries grow enough food to feed their own people and reduce developing countries' reliance on food aid.
