The 100th anniversary of China's Xinhai Revolution was celebrated in Vietnam's northern Hai Phong city on Saturday with a photo exhibition showing almost one hundred photos to tell the story of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
More than 100 people including Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou, Chairman of the Business Association of China in Hai Phong Wu Shuangning, representatives of Chinese enterprises in Vietnam and local government in Hai Phong attended the event to review the history of 1911 revolution, also known as the Xinhai Revolution, and cherish the memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, a great patriot and China's forerunner of the democratic revolution.
In his speech, Kong said more than a century ago, the leader of the revolution, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and other Chinese revolutionaries have undertaken revolutionary work in Vietnam and been supported by Vietnamese people. The Xinhai Revolution, which overthrew the Qing dynasty, is an important milestone in Chinese history.
"The exhibition plays a significance role in inheriting and developing our glorious revolutionary traditions, carrying forward the spirits of the Xinhai Revolution and strengthening the national unity," Kong said.
Wu said the Xinhai Revolution is a landmark of the revolutionary movement in Chinese history, which put an end to the centuries-old feudal system in China and helped promote the revitalization of the Chinese nation. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the revolution, the Business Association of China in Hai Phong held a series of activities to inherit the glorious tradition, inspire oversea Chinese descendants, and promote China-Vietnam traditional friendship.
