【Tech 24H】Huazhong Agricultural University has uncovered the multi-step process of how an entirely new gene emerges and the mechanism through which this gene influences plant phenotypes. This discovery not only provides a theoretical basis for the targeted regulation of scent traits in roses but also offers a new paradigm for mining novel genes. In the future, related research is expected to break through the technical limitations of traditional improvement methods reliant on existing genes, enabling precise plant trait modification through the de novo creation of new genes.
