Unlike traditional AI models that pursue "second-level responses," GPT-5-Codex innovatively introduces a dynamic time allocation system. Depending on task complexity, its "thinking" time allocation is more dynamic than previous models, with task completion times ranging from a few seconds to 7 hours. This characteristic enables it to perform exceptionally well in agentic coding benchmarks. The model will serve as the default engine for Codex cloud services, which enables developers directly to test and use via terminals, VS Code plugins, or GitHub.
