Three people died in a rain-triggered mudslide on Tuesday in Kezilesu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, local government officials said Wednesday.
The accident occurred early Tuesday morning in Akto county, causing the deaths of three mining company workers, halting traffic and cutting off telecommunication services.
Rescuers retrieved the three bodies at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, and rescue work ended with no other casualties reported.
Traffic and telecommunication services had resumed as of Wednesday.
