NANNING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of 3,000 Vietnamese young people visited Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Tuesday as part of a cultural exchange activity between the two countries.
During the four-day visit, which started on Sunday and ends Thursday, the delegation will visit eight cities in Guangxi, a region bordering Vietnam.
"It is the first time I have come to China. I didn't know much about the country before. Now I see its rapid development from its beautiful cities and modern factories," said Hoang Thi Minh Tuyet.
She said she hopes that her Chinese counterparts will have the opportunity to visit Vietnam.
She and nine other young Vietnamese visited a Chinese family on Monday to make dumplings and eat lunch together.
Nguyen Manh Dung, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam, said he found that Chinese and Vietnamese families share similar customs after the visit.
"It makes me feel at home," said Nguyen.
This is the second time the regional government has hosted a series of cultural exchange activities for young people from Vietnam and China. The first exchanges were held successfully in 2010.
