A Mi-8 helicopter that went missing while monitoring the flood situation in Russia's Irkutsk region was found crashed and destroyed, with ten people and about two tons of explosives aboard, the Emergency Situations Ministry said Monday.
"The Mi-8 helicopter has been revealed seven km away from the community of Preobrazhenka with signs of destruction," ministry spokeswoman Irina Rossius told reporters.
Fate of the passengers was not immediately known as rescue teams have spotted the wreckage on an ice floe, the Interfax news agency said.
